Sorry Family and Friends, but we just couldn’t not do this.
You probably already guessed what.
You know this obsession we have with sustainable living and the application of solar technology to everyday life?
That’s right, we just had to carve a solar jack-o-lantern this year.
We call this year’s pumpkin “Two Solar Spooks.” It was easy to make. Take a regular old pumpkin, carve it, and jam a solar yard light inside (Gail’s idea). There’s very little maintenance because it even turns itself on at dusk. You might have to take the lid off during the day to let sunlight charge it back up if your carving doesn’t let in enough light. But it’s safe and doesn’t violate the HOA prohibition against open flame in our yard. And of course there is no burning or CO2 dumped into the air. How good is that!
