{"id":1473,"date":"2011-01-30T16:23:09","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T00:23:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/?p=1473"},"modified":"2017-12-01T05:08:44","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T13:08:44","slug":"listening-to-the-symphony-orchestra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/2011\/01\/30\/listening-to-the-symphony-orchestra\/","title":{"rendered":"Listening to the Symphony Orchestra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applause erupted from the filled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artscomplex.com\/Venues\/BoettcherConcertHall\/tabid\/72\/Default.aspx\">Boettcher Concert Hall<\/a> as <a href=\"http:\/\/jenniferkoh.com\/\">Jennifer Koh<\/a> walked onto the stage, carefully clutching her 1727 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stradivarius\">Stradivarius violin<\/a> for a program of Baroque music composed by two contemporaries Bach and Vivaldi.<br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSO_Program2011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSO_Program2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"526\" height=\"475\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1474\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSO_Program2011.jpg 526w, http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/CSO_Program2011-300x271.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Guest artist Koh soon had the audience mesmerized with her ability to lift the notes from the paper, deftly translate these musical ideas into lengths of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.violinist.com\/wiki\/violin-strings\/\">string<\/a> and coax their vibrations to life.  The reborn concerto emerged from its 300 year old Stradavari womb and reverberated throughout the hall to find each ear.<\/p>\n<p>It was an exquisite moment for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nowforourturn.org\/CosmicReflections\/terminology\/#Emergence\">Emergence<\/a>.    This was the creation of \u2018something more\u2019 &#8211; the joyful sound of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Four_Seasons_(Vivaldi)\">Valvidi\u2019s Spring<\/a> -from \u2019nothing but\u2019 &#8211; the plant cells of dense cold climate European wood (just CO2, water, sunlight and a few other minerals) ingeniously crafted into a violin, bowed by \u2018nothing but\u2019 human cells of a talented vibrant women (born in Chicago of Korean parents) during a sensuous concert to stir the emotions of more than 2600 surrounding souls.<br \/>\nAs the music and our visceral rings of appreciation expanded outward from planet Earth and rippled into deep space during this inspiring performance, how could the Universe not became a better place?   Looking back on itself, we can only imagine our expanding Cosmos was feeling a bit prouder.<\/p>\n<p>From Light&#8230; to Star Stuff \u2026 to Life\u2026 to Consciousness with musical nourishment of the Soul &#8211; just another reason for us to \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thankgodforevolution.com\/\">Thank God for Evolution<\/a>\u201d and to whisper a prayer that we may acquire the wisdom for a sustainable existence on Planet Earth:  May the niche that supports the life of music, continue to prosper.
